Homework is Burn After Reading which I saw yesterday at the cinema. I posted something about it in the last podcast. You should all enjoy it.

The homework is ‘Burn After Reading’, I know this not because I listened to the podcast, but because Kodo told me. Are they really making a series of ‘10 Things I Hate About You’? Anyhoo, I used to listen to the podcast, but Peter banged on about BSG too much, so I got bored.. Does he still do that?

well played palais... i do belieleve that wanker Pete doesnt

How is it possible to talk to much about BSG

Kodo | October 27, 2008

How is it possible to talk to much about BSG but no he hasn’t done that for a while mostly cause it is on hiatus.

You should check the cast out again though it is quite entertaining most of the time.

MattH I thought it was brilliant. It kind of reminded me a little bit of Pulp Fiction were seemingly random threads all kind of join up to make a great film.

Ok on to the show….Elixabeth Shue, how can you all forget??? She was the love interest in The Karate Kid….

James Camerons greatest gift to the world..no contest here. Introducing us all to the hotness that is Jessica Alba. Not only did he do that he had her wearing tight black pants…the world is very happy.

I am pretty sure that when referring to a trio of film prequels he was comparing the new ST movies to the most recent Star Wars trilogy. You know it’s true. Not all Trek movies are bad, I really liked First Contact.

In regards to favourite Trek I really liked TNG as that was my first real introduction to Trek and seasons 4-6 have some kickass episodes but my favourite is now DS9 and has been for several years. primarily from when Worf came on board in Season 4 and the war against the Founders kicked into high gear. The thing I like about Tek is they can say a lot about current society and other issues and by having it in space it kind of makes it ok to say it. If you said some of the things they covered in mainstream culture you would have been shot down. It is very similar to True Blood at the moment were there is a lot of racism expressed in that show but because it is against vampires it is deemed to be ok. If the same show was pitched with the racism being against blacks it would never see the light of day.

Hmmm babylon AD. Sounds crap but if a directors cut came out do you think it would be worth watching considering how the director came out and said the studio butchered the film. Do you think a properly edited cut would help save it? I haven’t seen it and not likely too based on your review.

Body of Lies I wouldn’t be likely to go a and see either but that’s another issue all together.

I have a question for guys about remakes. Infernal Affairs or The Departed? I had already seen and own Infernal Affairs before the The Departed won it’s awards but I heard it was a total copy of it and I was very pissed off. I refused to buy it so I got a copy elsewhere and could not believe they would hand out an Oscar to a film that was not just a Hollywood remake BUT was almost a shot for shot recreation of Infernal Affairs. Is Hollywood really that bad that they have to give awards to films that show no originality at all and are totally devoid of fresh ideas. Surely the Academy knew of Infernal Affairs yet still heaped praise on The Departed. Looking at IMDB BAFTA weren’t any better. The only thing they did was change the ending and IMHO made it worse.

Ok that was just a rant but also looking for your opinions on it. Just looking in comments at IMDB seems more people liked IA so my faith in humanity has been restored a little bit. Just can’t believe Scorsese couldn’t do something more original with a film he “had the rights too” than make a shot for shot copy. His greatness as a director should have suffered fo it yet he won an Oscar for best Director. I just don’t get it..
