So, in an experiment, we recorded with the idea that we would not cut this episode. It actually turned out ok!

And your homework is The Kid Stays In The Picture…

Wow, you guys flew without a parachute and survived! And it sounded okay too… If it means we get our beloved FTC podcast sooner then please don’t ever edit again! Now I’m off to find out why you guys like Arrested Development so much.
Dear Macca,
Arrested Development is probably the best comedy to appear on US television in my 24 year lifetime.
Go watch it already.
Love,
Anthony
You’re right Anthony, AD is great American comedy. Those last three words don’t usually go together. I’ve watched 12 episodes today and am hooked, this show is great!
It’s made me think about other good American comedies and I can only think of two – Barney Miller and MASH. There were also a few good ones back in the 60’s but other than those what have I missed?
Hey guys,
Couldn’t agree more with your thoughts on Boondock Saints. I have a lot of friends who rave about this film and list it as their favourite movie of all time and just about threaten to disown me for bagging it. So I was wondering whether it was just me. Also, this film has ruined Willem Defoe for me.
Wow, sorry guys. I’m kind of embarrassed that I suggested The Boondock Saints. I really didn’t think you guys would hate it as much as you did.
To be honest, when the movie first came out I was 14. At that age, when I wasn’t masturbating, the only things I looked for on a movie cover were the words ‘frequent coarse language’, ‘high-level violence’ and ‘nudity’ and I’m pretty sure The Boondock Saints had all three.
So perhaps its impression on me at that ripe young age may have tainted my judgement on what is apparently a horrible film, and for that I apologise.
In its defence, it is just an action movie and in that sense, I don’t think that it’s any more outrageous than something along the lines of Desperado.
At the end of the day, it delivers exactly what we’ve come to expect from the genre – fun with bullets and the occasional boob.
I still encourage people to watch the documentary Overnight, about the director Troy Duffy. Even if you hated the film, it’s an interesting look at how short a career in Hollywood can be if you screw over the wrong people.
I liked this unedited recording. Seems I was mentioned for some reason but can’t remember why. Something to do with Pete having wrong opinions or something
I am really pissed about any possibility of a Hollywood remake of Oldboy. They can’t truly do it justice based on the major twist of the movie and the violence. can you imagine half of Oldboy getting a cinema release in USA. it would be killed by their R+ rating where basically you guarantee no chains show it.
I won’t spoil it for others but Hollywood just can’t make this movie. They maybe able to get away with the other 2 vengence films of the trilogy but Oldboy is a stretch.
They couldn’t remake Infernal Affairs without copying it more than remaking/re-imaging it how can they possibly do Oldboy???
i am a Trekkkie (hate Trekker) but have some reservations about new movie but hopefully it will work out well.
Loved the live version of the show! It felt more alive/animated and I enjoyed listening to it more than usual – and that is saying something.
Keep doing this – less work – faster listen.
Cheers
