Dirty Rotten Scoundrels...How about Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker and maybe directed by Brett Rattner. Could be an awesome movie.

Transformers looks good, especially in HD DVD, especially Ms Fox, but I wouldn't say I loved it. If you take it for what it is I guess it stands up ok but it's not one of the greats of cinema history. It's a decent popcorn movie.

How can you say there are no good Robin Hood films. How about Men in Tights, that's a good film :)

Michael Bay could remake Blade Runner. Ok maybe not. I go the Bladerunner 5 disc HD DVD boxset and it looks so yummy. I agree with you guys they couldn't make a sequel to it. It's of those films that needs to be left alone. of course if they did a remake they would have Shia Lebouf as Deckard as he seems to be taking over from Harrison Ford in everything else.

Noone mentioned Paul Newmans great performance in the Colour of Money with Tom. He was in so many classic movies and will go down as one of the greats.

Better get some work done, maybe post more later when I remember what else I was thinking about yesterday listening to the show.

"Better Joker"? I even tried to post this on the train but Optus didn't want me to:

1989's Batman is so drastically different to 2008's Batman that I think it's very hard to compare many aspects of the films at all.

One of the least of which would have to be how Jack Nicholson portrayed a and interpreted a character with a different history to the one Heath Ledger portrayed. I'd go as far as to say they're different characters. I dunno how you guys compare them. I'm a huge fan of both but certainly wouldn't be able to pick a 'better' one.

Meanwhile I fucking LOVED Transformers. I've never in my life wanted to stand up in a cinema and punch the sky with a big Hetfield "yeah!" in any other film. I'm very much with Dave in this regard - I thoroughly enjoy movies that know what they are - I expected abig budget, good looking, giant robot PG13 movie and I got a great experience.

Similarly I thoroughly enjoyed Cloverfield. I knew it was a handycam shot HOLY-FUCK-THERE'S-A-HUGE-MONSTER-INVADING-NEW-YORK movie. Again, I certainly wasn't dissapointed.

And what's with all the Kung Fu Panda hate? People I know that have seen it (and had little expectations) say it was a fantastic surprise and they really enjoyed it. I think a bunch of film nerds sitting around declaring they'll never ever see a film, never mind how successful it's been goes against what you guys are all about - good film, bad film, successful film, bizarre film, shallow film.... It's not like it's Milo and Otis and 17 kittens were killed during the filming of it. To rule out a very successful DreamWorks picture kind of smacks of some misguided arrogance that I don't quite understand. Perhaps you guys can enlighten me on the boycot? I know Justin has no soul but this seems a little beyond that.

Oh, count me in for the dual streams - I only really listen to the news one out of guilt that I like the film ones so much :)

I have some Jack Thompson "Smokey BBQ" sauce hidden down the back of our pantry. It is plastered with a photo of his white beard and grinning face. He loves his sauce. It was probably bought from NQR, yes.
